The jmarchitects designed conversion of a former Dundee Jute Mill into a boutique Hotel has been named Best Hotel in Scotland by ‘The Sunday Times’. The hotel opened this summer, following a multi-million pound renovation, transforming the disused and derelict Mill buildings into a chic, contemporary hotel with 102 rooms and an in-house restaurant ‘Daisy Tasker’ which has also received critical acclaim since opening its doors.
Restoration of the mill’s bell tower has safeguarded the future of a cherished city landmark whilst inside the hotel, the original steel structure has been exposed and bare-brick walls, hardwood timber floors and exposed services reflect the industrial heritage of the building.
The second phase of the works, Staybridge Suites, is scheduled to open in early 2019.
