jmarchitects were invited by Igloo Regeneration along with 5 other Architects to design a terrace house for a proposed development in Dundashill, Glasgow.
The proposal was for a custom build housing solution for the Dundashill area, in partnership with Scottish Canals, Igloo Regeneration and CCG, with off-site production and construction by CCG.
jmarchitects’ self-build project solution was designed to be adapted by prospective home-owners. The site layout is an arrangement of streets with large shared gardens between. To increase privacy and views, the living area was raised up to first floor level. A small courtyard was inserted into the plan to introduce more light and greenery into the living space. An open plan layout with kitchen and living area combined provides additional flexibility, allowing the completed custom design to have choices between the more traditional terrace housing layout and more varied apartments.
