Ian Alexander, Gavin Murray and Ciaran Quinn attended the official opening of Calderwood Primary School on the 4th of March 2022 and were greeted by a piper as they entered the school, whilst the children’s choir were standing on the hellerup singing songs. It was great to see so much life and activity within the school and to meet people face to face again.
James Cameron, Head of Education for West Lothian Council provided a background and overview of the school project, and the school choir performed several songs to the audience. Sarah Burton, the Headteacher, gave her thoughts on the school, the children and their vision for the learning environment. This was followed by the official unveiling of the school opening plaque by Councillor Lawrence Fitzpatrick, leader of West Lothian Council.
