Calderwood Primary School has been officially handed over!
We are delighted to announce that the new Calderwood Primary School, delivered on behalf of West Lothian Council by Hub South East and Morrison Construction is now open to primary pupils and staff. Congratulations to everyone involved in the delivery of this brilliant project!
The new build school designed by jmarchitects is located at the heart of a new overall masterplan development by Stirling Developments. The school forms one edge to a proposed village square with the design being influenced by a necessity for the school building to fulfil the role of a (central) community orientated public building, providing a significant public face to the newly emerging square and settlement of Calderwood.
West Lothian Council have a strong belief in developing the way that education is delivered through an open collaborative learning environment and the design proposals aimed to embrace this, providing a series of flexible interchangeable spaces within an overall building plan that provides opportunities for pupils of all ages to interact and learn from each other.
